As I was doing this, ASUS Live Update pops up telling me there is an update available. (This was advised by the seller btw) It worked, yes. After resetting my computer back to its factory settings, I restarted 3 times, all succeeding. fixed my problem of not being able to boot sometimes and failing restarts, although when I restart it heats up for some reason, but it's not so bad as to overheat it, I'm assuming I really need to update the BIOS, but then again I can't.(Sadly, I was too excited about the laptop that the moment I saw ASUS I just pressed install and didn't even bother to read what it was installing) (Yea, I suck. And so, I got confident again and started installing some essentials: CCleaner, Malwarebytes, Opera, and Share It. The files were 1 GB in total so couldn't download them anyway. And I said to myself, if you restart properly the third time, I will not reset you. But I didn't reset it yet because I wanted to wait for my seller's opinion on this. If anyone knows how I could make the u SB work, please do help me, I'd appreciate it.Trying to update my bios version from 1.0 to 1.50 msi.I'd like to ensure I have the latest BIOS update for my MSI mb (MSI G41M P33) and video card. Im under the impression that using the MSI software is the way to go..not sure since I have Win 8 Pro OS. The original reason for my update on bios was my clock speed on my i5 4590 was locked at 800mhz for some reason.I figured it may have been old bios but it also could be any issue since I had to trash that build.Hi phantom1421, Here is a link to a MSI Forum sticky about problems using Live Update.I think I would use the method in your MB manual rather than Live Update.
If you don't know what you are doing, it is advisable not to update your MSI hardware devices, as this might result in restricted access to BIOS and permanent damage to your computer.
After when it gets done I got my history and current version and it says incompleted when it is done downloading all the stuff.
I restarted my pc to see if it would fix it but it still says Incompleted.
It can also spare you the trouble of buying newer hardware only to resolve an issue that can be otherwise fixed with firmware updates.
