Their message was that I was being too picky looking for an educated, attractive girl in her mid to late 20's that lives within 5-10 miles of Boston. In the time I've been with Lunch Dates I have also been doing online dating, and I've had much better success online.
At the beginning of the service I met with Marty, the owner.
Either they just didn't understand what kind of women I was looking to meet, or they just didn't care.
Then when my 10 dates ran out they had the nerve to call and ask if I wanted to sign up for another subscription.
When I told them I was disappointed, that their service offers nothing better than online dating, they said that I had not had a date yet and so could not judge. ) That is the point--in 2 months of online dating, for better or worse, I have had 6 dates and could have had more if I had the energy. Their matching criterion seems to be that they match up two people of roughly comparable age, with no regard to actual compatibility.
Listen- if I’m only getting 1 match ever month or so, I’m going to hold out and make it someone I actually want to meet.
And the kicker- all their "his friends describe him as" were athletic- one guy even "ran marathons"...
he was less than 5'10 and had to weigh over 275lbs.
In total, I will have gone on 8 dates in 12 months and ~,000 for the service (not including dates).
I was disappointed with the date locations as they were all high end, expensive Italian locations.
I'm athletic and participate in several sports clubs, hike & backpack most weekends and live a healthy lifestyle.
