After her controversial performance in “Pretty Baby” at the age of 12, Brooke Shields became a Hollywood sensation.
Although she took a small break from acting to attend college in her teen years, Shields is now known to be one of the most iconic actresses of her time.
The Birmingham, Alabama native landed her first gig in 1971 in the hit show .
However, the producers weren’t happy with this and wanted something with a bit more of a punch.
But it was Swedish director Ingmar Bergman who helped her become a household name.
Today, Shields still makes minor TV appearances and is raising two daughters. Having dropped out of high school at the age of 16, she became romantically involved with a man who was 30 years older than her – John Derek.
Upon meeting Bo, he instantly decided to leave his wife and as soon as they became official, they fled to Germany. However, he career eventually fizzled out and she never really bounced back from an acting standpoint.
Her first gigs included modeling, however, she later became best known for her role as Ginger on “Gilligan’s Island”.
To this day, that happens to be her most memorable performance.
