Howard began his career at the Elliott Company in Jeannette, PA as an Engineer.
He transitioned to the Army for the course of World War II, where he served as a Chief Warrant Officer in Europe, finishing his service at Fort Eustis, VA.
He and his family subsequently moved to Penn Yan, where he was employed by Sylvania (Seneca Falls) and was president of the Angler Boat Company (Penn Yan).Many people and organizations, including local schools, were the beneficiaries of his talents.is survived by his wife of 74 years, Evelyn; three children, Janice (Butch) Comstock, Keith (Eileen) Frum and Betsy (Bruce) Warfield; daughter-in-law, Penelope Frum; two grandsons, Ben Comstock and Wes Comstock; and sister-in-law, Patricia Skeins.
